Joan Galante Obituary
Joan, 69, left this world on Sept 15, 2015 at home.
The devoted wife (41 years) of Lt. Col. Richard L. Galante of Akron, she is also survived by her daughter, Nichole of Medina, Ohio; sisters, Connie, Ginger; and brothers, Lew and Larry Shreckengast of Millheim, Pa.; numerous nieces and nephews all in Pennsylvania.
Joan worked at American Beverage Control and the Recycle Plant in Akron and later at Tenney Tools of Barberton before retiring. She loved flower gardening, receiving two citations from the Akron mayor. She was a life member of Ladies Auxiliary VFW.
At her request, there are no services. Cremation has taken place. Memorials may go to the Cooper Cancer Center in Akron. To share a Memory, Send a Condolence or Light a Candle, visit the Tribute Wall at www.billowfuneralhomes.com.

Our family remembers the fun times we spent together going on ski trips, the Goodtime II happy hour cruises, playing cards and Trivial Pursuit. We cherish the happy memories of these times spent with you and are so happy we reconnected with you & Joan in Ocean City last summer. Our deepest sympathies to you.

Having spent much of my childhood with Nichole and her family, I am so very sorry to hear of Joan's passing. She welcomed me into the house on Rose Blvd and even on vacation with them. I have many memories with this family and send my love and condolences.

Joan was a wonderful cook and a devoted wife to Richard. She will be truly missed by all. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends talking about good times. It was a pleasure to know her and I will miss her stories about the ghost in her house.
