Norma Irene Detwiler (Cahoon)

Norma Irene Detwiler, 91, of Seville, passed away peacefully March 7, 2018, surrounded by her children. She was born November 25, 1926 to the late Homer and Hilda (Newcomer) Cahoon.

Norma's family was the love of her life. She will be dearly missed by her daughter, Bette (Brad) Starkey, Wadsworth; sons, Tom (Amy) Detwiler, Westfield Center and Doug (Jill) Detwiler, Bath; eleven grandchildren, Nate (Amy Starkey, Patrick (Liz) Starkey, Emily Hartzler, Michael (Jess) Detwiler, Drew, Taylor and Seth Detwiler, Amanda and Dana Martin, and Jack and Chloe Grimm; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert in 1971; son, Bob in 1978; daughter, Becky (Jim) Martin in 1998; and brother, Dale (Florence) Cahoon in 1987.

Norma was a 1944 graduate of Seville High School, a lifelong member of the Seville United Methodist Church, where she held various positions throughtout the years, and active member of the Seville Historical Society, often organizing events and giving tours, and organized blood drives for the American Heart Association for over ten years. She worked at Ohio Match, Santee Associates and the Seville Post Office.

The funeral will be held Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Seville United Methodist Church, 74 W. Main Street, Seville. Pastor Don Trigg will officiate. Burial will be at the Mound Hill Cemetery immediately following the funeral. Calling hours 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 12, 2018, also at the Seville United Methodist Church.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the Seville United Methodist Church, American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society. Arrangements by Armstrong Funeral Home, Seville.
