Charles Smith Obituary
Charles Smith, 81, husband, father, grandfather and brother, was called to his eternal resting place on September 26, 2018.
He was born on February 10, 1937 in Akron, Ohio, to Charles and Ethel Smith. Charles, who went by Chuck, worked for Firestone Tire and Rubber Company in Akron, Ohio for 27 years, and then Goodyear for the remainder of his career, another ten years. The last five years were at their Airtreads division in Atlanta, Ga. as their EPA Coordinator He resided in Fayetteville, Ga. for 26 years, before returning to Akron, fulfilling the wishes of his wife of 64 years, Carol.
A graduate of St. Vincent High School, he put himself through night school at the University of Akron, graduating in 1978 with a BS in Education.
He was a member of Firestone Country Club and an avid golfer.
He is survived by his wife, Carol (nee Rolph); sons, Denis (Aeree Choe), Mark (Lee Ann), and Ralph (Kathy); sisters, Janet Vernarge, and Margaret "Peggy" Bilandzia; brother, John "Jerry" (Vivian) Smith; grandchildren, Stacey, Shannon, Kerry, Kristen, Zach, Andrew, and Maggie.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church on Brown St., where friends may call one hour prior. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Chuck will always be remembered as a sweet personable cousin....w/his golf clubs packed an ready to swing them...with his contagious smile...always present at our big family reunions.
