Russell S. Bender

Russell S. Bender, 64, of Akron passed away unexpectedly on May 13. He was born in Akron, the son of the late William and Katherine Bender. Russ had retired as a professional waiter and had worked at several Five Star restaurants in the Washington, D.C. area. Besides his parents; he was preceded in death by his brother, Greg. His survivors include sisters, Cheryl Bender and Leslie Bender; brother, Jeffrey Bender; nephew, Jeffrey; and special sister, Chanda Porter (Sigler). A memorial service is scheduled for Wednesday, May 19 at 2:00 p.m. at the Dunn-Quigley Funeral Home, (811 Grant St.) where friends may call from noon until service time.
