JOHNSON, BRUCE WILLIAM: Penticton, BC April 13, 1939 - December 5, 2025 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Bruce William Johnson of Penticton, BC, on Friday, December 5, 2025, at the age of 86. He left this world surrounded by family who were holding onto him tightly, with love. Born in Montreal, Quebec on April 13, 1939, Bruce was one of seven children born to Dorothy and George Johnson. He grew up in a lively home with his twin brother Alan and siblings Roy, Nickie, Douglas, David and Peter. After attending Mount Allison University, he embarked on a life defined by family, connection, conversation and community. Bruce loved people, and people loved Bruce. He had a way of striking up conversations wherever he went and somehow remembering the little things that mattered to others. In our family and circle of friends he was the "hub"; the one who knew what was happening, who it involved, and how it was all connected. If you wanted a good story or to hear the latest news you always called Bruce. He carried an entrepreneurial spirit throughout his life. Bruce rarely saw a business without imagining how it could be run just a little better. His creativity didn't stop there; he poured that same enthusiasm into his lifelong passion for model aircraft, building and dreaming with a joy that never diminished. He was a founding member of PENMAC, the Penticton Model Airplane Club, and was honoured with a lifetime membership award for his dedication and leadership. Bruce and Cheryl (Good) married in 1965, beginning a life together shaped by love, humour, resilience, and the kind of storytelling that anchored their family through the years. He was a devoted father to Jodie (Dani) and Scott (Amy) and a proud grandfather to Aedan. Bruce was predeceased by his parents, his twin brother Alan and his brothers Roy and Peter. He is survived by his loving wife Cheryl, his daughter Jodie, his son Scott, his grandson Aedan, and his siblings Nickie, Douglas and David as well as many other extended family members. Bruce will be remembered most for how he brought people together. His ability to listen, connect, and care; he turned acquaintances into friends and friends into family. The spirit of connection, of helping others feel seen and valued, is the legacy he leaves with all of us. We are heartbroken to say goodbye but we are forever grateful for the love he shared and the way he shaped our lives. A private family service will be held this winter with a celebration of life to take place in Spring 2026; details to follow. Condolences and memories can be sent to the family by visiting
