Glen STEARN Obituary

STEARN, Glen D.: March 7, 1949 - April 6, 2021 My life partner Glen D. Stearn passed away peacefully in the Penticton Hospital on April 6, 2021. His battle with cancer is over, no more pain. All who knew Glen will remember a big guy with a big voice and an even bigger heart. Seeing him in Hawaiian shirts cowboy hat on a motorcycle and at garage sales. You left this world, but not my heart.

I trained with Glen at the Vancouver Police Academy. We were friends for many years. He was a wonderfully upbeat guy and fun to be with. He will be missed.

I’m sorry for your loss. I got to meet Glen for the first time a few years ago. Long lost cousins !( I’m Erin, Ernie Stearns biological daughter) I’m sure you heard he story . Glen seemed like a great man , with a great hug ! I’m sorry I were not able to see more of him . Unfortunately, days pass and this is another reminder to make the time to see family and friends when you can . Life is far too short . Take care ❤

So sad that Glen is gone, he was one of the healthiest and most cheerful people that I have known. We went to the same gym for years, he was healthy and fit, he used to be a cop in Vancouver and I never, ever thought he would be gone so soon. I will miss our chats and his smile. Our son went to school with his son Miles, and he always talked about Miles and his adventures. RIP, sincere condolences to Glen's family from Louise and Len Krekic.

We knew Glen through mutual family members. He was a great guy, caring and quick to smile and laugh. We will remember him fondly.

I’ve known Glen since we were kids in cadets at HMCS Discovery and then trained together and became colleagues at VPD. Simply put, he was always just the nicest guy with a very enjoyable sense of humour. I’m sad to see him go, way too early.

I met Glen in the VPD jail in 1970. No we were not prisoners , we were pre recruits waiting for the police academy class in Sept. in the meantime both Glen and I worked in the jail together. He was a nice guy and a humorous one. We had a great time that summer and entered the same class at HMCS Discovery in Sept , went through 4 months of training and then graduated in Dec 1970. I will miss him Rest In Peace Glen S/SGT Retired Andy Nimmo
