SALAMANCA - Mrs. Grace Nolan, 91, of Salamanca, died early Friday morning (Jan. 20, 2017) at home.
Born Feb. 16, 1925, in Arranmore Island, County Donegal, Ireland, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Bridget Gallagher O'Donnell. She was married on June 21, 1952, in the former St. Patrick's Church, to John F. Nolan, who predeceased her on Nov. 10, 2001.
Mrs. Nolan had been employed as a housekeeper for the former St. Patrick's Church in Salamanca.
She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish and enjoyed cooking and reading.
Surviving are four daughters, Bridget (William) Bzdak of New Columbia, Pa., Elizabeth Young of Salamanca, Mary Essary of Glendale, Ariz., Teresa (Rick) Guglielmo of Williamsport, Pa.; four sons, John (Penny) Nolan of Valdosta, Ga., Charles (Sherry) Nolan of Russell, Pa., Michael (Pam) Nolan of Clarendon, Pa., Daniel Nolan of Phoenix; 24 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a sister, Nelly Rodgers of Arranmore Island, County Donegal, Ireland; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a son, Kevin Nolan; and a brother, Patrick O'Donnell.
Friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, (Jan. 22, 2017) at the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River St., Salamanca.
A concelebrated Mass of Christian burial will be held at Our Lady of Peace Parish at 10 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Patrick Melfi, former pastor, as celebrant. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
