Betty J. BudzynskiSYLVAN BEACH >> Betty J. Budzynski, 91, formerly of Driftwood Lane, died Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018, in the Extended Care Facility of the Oneida Healthcare Center, where she had been a resident for the past seven and one-half years.Born in Syracuse, on Jan. 5, 1927, she was a daughter of Cecil and Gladys Greenwood McGibbons. A lifelong resident of the area, Betty was a graduate of Oneida High School, Class of 1944. She married Richard Budzynski in St. John's Church, North Bay, on Oct. 23, 1948. Mr. Budzynski died April 13, 2013.Betty was a member and past secretary of the Sylvan Beach Fire Department Auxiliary, Wednesday Night Beachcombers Bowling League and served on the Sylvan Beach/Verona Beach PTA. She loved to read and was known "For reading most of the library." Betty was a longtime communicant of St. Mary's Church.Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Janice and Robert Siver of Canastota and Carolyn and John McTiernan Jr. of Liverpool; five grandchildren and their spouses, John McTiernan III and Dr. Jacqueline Barlow, Brian and Alicia McTiernan, Beth and Matthew Robbins, Jill and Kevin Rock and Peter Siver and Cherie Enigk; eight great-grandchildren, Samantha Rock, Jacob Rock, Ava McTiernan, Tyler Robbins, Carter McTiernan, Lily Robbins, Violet Robbins and Emmalyn Siver; a niece, Sandra Selberis; a nephew, Douglas Virkler and a very close friend who was by her side, always, Delores St. Auburn. Betty was predeceased by a sister, Shirley McGibbons.The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you, to the entire Third Floor of the Oneida Extended Care Facility, especially the nursing team, for their care.Funeral services will be held 10:45 a.m., Friday from the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, Inc., 260 Main St., Oneida and 11:30 a.m. from St. Mary's of the Lake Church, Verona Beach, where the Funeral Mass will be celebrated by the Rev. Steven Wirkes, pastor. Spring interment will be made in St. John's Cemetery, North Bay. Friends may call at the funeral home, 5-7 p.m., Thursday.
