Brandon SheedyONEIDA >> Brandon T. Sheedy, 45, of Stone Street, passed away at home on Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018.Born in Oneida on Dec. 18, 1972, he was the son of Arthur T. "Bud" and Cheryl Tooke Sheedy Jr. A lifelong resident of the area with the exception of spending five years in Las Vegas, Brandon was a graduate of Oneida High School, Class of 1991, where he lettered in football, basketball and baseball and received the "Bill Fariel Award" and attended Cobleskill College.Brandon spent the past 25 years in the gaming industry in Las Vegas at the Sands and the Monte Carlo Casinos and at Turning Stone Resort and Casino in Verona. He enjoyed playing in various volleyball, softball, basketball and baseball leagues and was of the Catholic faith. Brandon's favorite place was the family cottage at Hatch Lake which he called "heaven on earth".Surviving besides his parents are two daughters, Madison Cheryl Sheedy and Samantha Elizabeth Sheedy, both of Oneida; one brother and sister-in-law, Ryan W. and Kimberly Moher Sheedy of Oneida; two nieces, Kamryn and Kendyl; two step-daughters, Taylor Gerlicher of Las Vegas and Aspen Gerlicher of Verona and several aunts, uncles and cousins.Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday from St. Patrick's Church, where the funeral Mass will be celebrated by the Rev. William Mesmer. There will be no public hours of visitation. Contributions may be made to Wanderers' Rest, P.O. Box 535, Canastota, N.Y. 13032.
