Shirley (Pappa) AgrippinoUTICA >> Shirley (Pappa) Agrippino, 86, of Utica and formerly of Canastota, passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2018 surrounded by her family. A native of Williamstown, Shirley was a daughter of the late Wallace Pappa and Mildred Pappa Brown. She married Anthony Agrippino of Manlius in 1950. Shirley was formerly employed at Mohawk Airlines (US Air) and was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and foster parent to more than 30 children. Shirley was the past president of the Salt Springs Baseball League 1966-1971, where she was instrumental in convincing Tom Niland (Le Moyne College) to build baseball fields for 250 Little Leaguers. Her passion for her community helped build an organization that secured funding from area business, organized opening day parades, and she still worked the snack shack five nights per week, yet always remembered her friends and family came first.From humble beginnings, her example and passion for life and love of family was a lesson learned for all that knew her. We will all miss you.She is predeceased by Stewart, Reggie and James Pappa and sister, Janice Comstock.Surviving are her son, Nicholas (Dorothy) of Manlius; daughter, Sheila (Robert) Faulkner of DeWitt; seven grandchildren, Karen, Jennifer, Angela (Michele) of Phoenix, Nicholas III, Anthony, Michelle and Michael; six great-grandchildren, Angelo, Victor, Dante, Giovanni, Brooke, Adaline; two brothers, Gary (Sandy) and Raymond (Irene) Pappa; and several nieces and nephews.Calling hours will from 4-7 p.m. on Sunday, June 24 at Eaton-Tubbs Fayetteville Chapel, 7191 E. Genesee St., Fayetteville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, June 25 at 11 a.m. at Holy Cross Church, 4112 E. Genesee St., DeWitt.
