Carole McClure Obituary
In addition to her husband, Carole is survived by a son William Preston McClure of Waynesville, North Carolina and a grandson Alex McClure Hickman. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law Toni and Milton Parr of Athens, Georgia, nephews Wade and Zack Parr of St. Simons Island, Georgia and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Bill and Judi McClure of Appling, Georgia.
Carole was an avid golfer and loved to bowl with special bowling teammates Roy and Lessie Elrod. She was part owner of Rocky Branch Golf Club in Lincolnton, Georgia where she played with her dear friends Cookie Schmidt, Nell Robinson, Barbara Krummell, Cindy Troupe, Paula Fletcher, Barbara Spires, Melony Dawkins, Ann Sanders, Patty Patridge, Janice Gentry, Nancie Czernek, and Betty Wisenbaker on a regular basis until her illness prevented her from playing.
Carole always put others' wellbeing above her own and never let an opportunity pass by to help family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, March 10, 2017, 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Rocky Branch Golf Club.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of one's choice. The family would like to thank Southeastern Hospice for their kindness and caring for their loved one.

As young teen-agers Carole and I rode my horse, Dan, together for miles on Saturdays. I have fond memories of her and am sorry that I lost touch after we graduated from high school. I remember Toni, also.

God bless for a beautiful young lady whom I was lucky to claim as my first date in Athens, Ga. before I could even drive. My Mother took us to the Georgia Theater where we saw "APRIL LOVE". At 75, that is still my fondest memory. To Jerry and family: God Bless and relish your life witha very special LADY.
