Timothy Mills Obituary
Athens - Timothy Clegg Mills, 78, husband of Alice McKinnon Mills, died Saturday, May 1, 2021. Born in Wingate, NC, he was the son of the late Brady Clegg Mills and Elsie Broome Mills. Mr. Mills had attended Prospect United Methodist Church. He retired from Prince Avenue Baptist Church Maintenance and following the church moving to Watkinsville, he assisted Piedmont College for a year. For 35 years he was the owner and operator of Red Mule Grits working alongside his wife and mule Mr. Luke. Survivors in addition to his wife include one daughter Rebecca (Brian) Andrews; granddaughter: Emma Andrews and three sisters: Janice Mills and Libby Hinson of Monroe, NC and Gail Baucom of Wingate, NC. The family will receive friends from 1 until 3 on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at Lord and Stephens East Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charity of your choice. I am so sorry to learn of Tim's death. Charles and I always enjoyed our visits to the farm and Mr. Luke. Still enjoy the grits from time to time.
