Steve Eberhart, of Bogart, Georgia, a deeply adored father, grandfather, brother and friend, died on Sunday, November 26, 2017 after suffering a heart attack. He was 60 years old.

He was born on October 23, 1957 in Athens, Georgia and was the youngest of six children of the late James Walter Eberhart and Ida M. Eberhart.

Steve was a man of few words. He could turn a difficult situation into one with laughter with just a bit of wisdom sprinkled with humor. He loved old cars, the band AC/DC, and giving those he endeared a nickname. He himself had many nicknames including Speedy. Steve loved watching cartoons with his girls Taylor (Tater Puff) and Mallory (Mal Pal) and could recite lines from some of his favorites many years later. He would stop everything to watch his favorite movie, "Slingblade" and could do a perfect imitation of Karl.

He had an adventurous life filled with insanely funny episodes that he shared with his siblings. A tailpipe that blew out so much smoke surrounding cars couldn't see the traffic signal to running over all the orange cones marking a road off to traffic. A jokester, yet sensitive man who would give you his last dollar if he thought it would help.

During his career as a truck driver, he traveled across the United States. Once he stated that if he added up the number of miles he drove, he could have gone to the moon several times over.

Steve is survived by his beautiful daughters; Taylor Eberhart, Gainesville; Mallory Eberhart, Gainesville; grandson: Grayson Hinson, Gainesville; sisters: Carol Slay, Winterville; Linda Iza, Bogart; Diane Brewer, Crawford; Janice Sand, Athens; and brother: Jim Eberhart, Athens. Along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Friday, December 1, 2017 from 6PM until 8PM at Batts & Bridges Funeral Home. The Reverend Mike Purdy will officiate. Graveside Service on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 2PM at Evergreen Memorial Park.
