J.C. Fortson Obituary
He is survived by his wife, Myrle Fortson of Athens; sons, Larry Fortson (Janie) of Juliette, Ga., and Jerry Fortson (Kay) of Colbert; three grandchildren, Chris Fortson (Lisa) of Colbert, Brook Hayes (Jay) of Macon and Jason Fortson (Valerie) of Comer; and four great-grandchildren, Isaac Hayes of Macon, Jake Strickland and Tyler Fortson of Colbert and Abby Fortson of Comer.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Friday, May 7, 2010, in the chapel of Bridges Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Phillips officiating. Interment will be in the Meadow Baptist Church Cemetery in Comer.
The family will receive friends at Bridges Funeral Home on Thursday, May 6, 2010, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
Bridges Funeral Home, Athens, has charge of arrangements.

Mr. Fortson was a fine man. He was very active as a Sunday School Teacher was I was a child, 60 years ago. May God's mercy and grace be with the entire family.
