Donald Barnett Obituary
Born January 5, 1931 in Jefferson, GA, he was the son of the late Herman Elmer and Amanda Eckles Barnett. Mr. Barnett was a Mason, English Professor at the University of Georgia for thirty-seven years, and a member of Bethany Methodist Church in Jefferson, GA.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Douglas Barnett.
Surviving is his loving wife of sixty years, Cynthia York Barnett; two sons, Donald Charles "Chip" Barnett and Michael William York Barnett; one nephew, Larry Douglas Barnett (Betty); one niece, Lynn Theresa Tench (Marcus) and cousins, great nieces, and great nephews.
Funeral services and burial will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 4, 2015 under the direction of Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson, GA.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, 130 Forest Glen Drive, Columbus, NC 28722, or Jefferson School System Foundation Inc., 276 Martin Street, Jefferson, GA 30549.
