To the Johnson family,

It was truly a blessing to meet Phyllis and the family. We had many laughs while Phyllis was in the hospital. She always had a smile on her face even when she was not feeling well. She truly loved god, her family and friends. She will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. With love.........

Bobby Lee and Family:

Phyllis showed much kindness and compassion to me years ago when I was still living in Louisa, and did it with a geniune "I'm glad I can help" attitude and a sincere smile. Rest assured her smile is brighter now than ever. I'm privileged to have known her.

Karen, Paige & Bobby Lee:

As I sit and read your guest book, there is little left to be said of the wonderful, inspiring, christian, wife, mother and friend Phyllis was.

The legacy she has left behind should be one that we all strive to meet, and embrace. What an example. Not only did she live an outstanding life, but her widsom, love, and strenghts live on in Karen and Paige, as they endured these difficult times.

I have written a poem of of what "I think".. happens when you die, and I would like to share this and hope is brightens you day. As your pass from this life....here is what transpires....

The gates of Heaven opened wide, I heard my savior say "Come step inside", my hand he took no more to roam, said "Welcome Child,Welcome Home".

As I stood there in such wonderous awe of things I heard and things I saw, the angels sang so joyfully, they were singing just for me.

The streets were paved with purest gold, I saw some friends, some new some old, I heard some stories yet untold, "Welcome home, my child, welcome home".

As I stood there in God's amazing grace, I searched the Heaven's for your dear face, your hands I touched we did embrace, "Welcome home, my child, Welcome Home.

The love of Jesus Christ was all around, Peace and Joy did abound, this lost lamb has now been found, "Welcome home, my child Welcome Home.

I am sure Phyllis is now a member in the Choir of God's purest love.

Paige, Austin and Family,
I read about the passing of your sweet Mother and Grandmother in the newspaper Friday evening. My heart truly aches for your entire family. Everytime I would see Mrs. Johnson she would have a beautiful smile on her face, just like yours Paige. She loved her grandchildren so much; I remember her visiting Austin at the middle school several times. Please know that your entire family are in my thoughts and daily prayers. May God wrap his loving arms around each one of you.

Dearest Paige, Karen, and Bobby Lee;
Words can't express what Phyllis meant to me. I remember many times at your kitchen table listening to her words of wisdom and guidance. And all the laughing--that is what Dale and I remember the most, her wonderful wit and humor. What a beautiful person, inside and out! Our prayers and thoughts are with you now. Lean on your faith and praise God for the incredible witness she was to the world.

To Phyllis's Family,
We were saddened to hear of your loss. Phyllis was one of the first people we met when we moved to Louisa. She was a great help with that tranisition. But we really got to know her when she convinced us to join the Louisa Retail Merchants Association. All the work that the three us did on the Spring Fling and Christmas Festival/Parade borught us close together. We will remember her always.

To the family and friends,
To know Phyllis was to know peace, tenderness, kindness, humility, joy, hope, goodness, faithfulness, and gentleness. She was full of the fruits of God's Spirit and I have the assurance that she now is being blessed with the Crown jewels that her life exemplified as she sits at the feet of our Lord Jesus Christ. As we mourn the loss of such a great woman and example here on Earth, I look forward to seeing her again and hearing her voice singing in God's heavenly choir. Phyllis and her family have both touched and inspired me, even more as her days here drew to an end. We will miss her, but she will be remembered through her actions, deeds and the legacy of her awesome family that she leaves behind. My deepest sympathy to the family. Our prayers are with you.
In Christ,

Bobby Lee, Karen, and Paige - I was so saddened to hear about Phyllis passing away. The last time I saw her was in Fabric Hut a year or so ago. I was so amazed at her attitude concerning her illnes. She is truly a child of God. There is no doubt in my mind that she is now celebrating her new life in heaven with the Lord. May that thought bring you peace.

Paige and family,
I want to extend my heartfelt sympathy to you all. Mrs. Johnson was such a sweet lady. Each time Connie and I would meet in Louisa, we would always make The Fabric Hut our last stop, saying we were saving the best for last! Mrs. Johnson was always so friendly and we felt like she was family. My thoughts and prayers are with you and I know you will take comfort in knowing she is resting in the arms of Jesus.

Dear Bobby Lee, karen and Paige,
You know that I moved to Mexico 2 1/2 years ago, and lost my wife, Lyn, in April. I was back in Charlottesville in July, and by chance met Phyllis at a store at Pantops. Her concern was with ME and my grieving, not a word about her own pain - what a wonderful lady! May God and Phyllis' lifetime of friends comfort you.

Your Phyllis had the strength to take what these last years gave her...isn't it the most comforting thing to know she has no more pain and is with her Lord. My very best, Carolyn

What a lovely lady! It was only a year ago that my mother passed away, and even though Phyllis was not well herself, she was one of the first persons at my home with a covered dish. She was a true witness for the Lord and lived out her faith, loving her neigbor as herself. Bobby, you and your family are in our prayers.

Dear Bobby Lee, Karen, & Paige, I was so saddened to hear about Phyllis this morning. You and all of the family are in my thoughts and prayers. If there is anything that I can do, please don't hesitate to contact me. She was such a special person and will be missed, but certainly always remembered for her kindness and concern for others. Even in her own sickness, she was always quick to inquire about the well being of my family and that just Phyllis, being the dear lady she was. I had the pleasure of working with Phyllis in the Louisa Retail Merchants Association and she was certainly dedicated to Louisa...
I'm thinking of you all.

A Better Place
There’s a place
beyond this world we know,
A place I’ve only heard of
but someday hope to go--
It’s not on any map,
There are no roads
to take me there,
But it’s a place of perfect peace
where hearts are free from care.
And though I understand
some may be saddened
When I leave,
One day, we all will meet again---
That’s what I believe....
When it’s time to travel there,
I think I’ll wear a smile,
I’ll say good-bye to those I love,
but only for a while,
Knowing there are others
who have traveled there alone,
Who cannot wait to greet me
and to whisper “welcome home.”

May you find peace
in the thought
that your loved one
is in a better place.
