Hildegard Grete Essig (Schweiss) passed away surrounded by her loving family January 26, 2021. She was 86 and lived a full life. Predeceased by Dieter, her husband of 37 years, she is survived by her son Christopher (Sarah) and her 3 beautiful grandchildren, Mathias, Isabella and Alexander whom she loved dearly and doted on as the best Omi in the world. Hildegard was born June 4, 1934 in Hamburg, Germany. Always an adventurous soul, she came to Canada at age 17. She met her husband Dieter in Toronto and together they raised their family in Orangeville. Hildegard's best times were spent with friends and family at the cottage on Loon Call Lake. She loved the arts, music and cooking and shared these passions with her family, especially with her grandchildren with whom she loved to do crafts and be creative. In accordance to Hildegard's wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family memorial will be shared in warmer weather.
