Dana Alice Zumbaugh, 76, of Fort Wayne, IN passed away on June 12, 2018. She had recently moved back to Fort Wayne after living in Apopka, FL for 30 years. Dana was born in Windsor, MO on March 3, 1942. She attended a one room schoolhouse until high school and used to ride a horse to school with her brother Jerry. After graduating from Central Missouri State College in 1964, Dana began a teaching career, which was soon interrupted by starting a family. Later on, she went back to school to become a mainframe computer programmer and worked in that field the rest of her career, the longest stint at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne. She enjoyed gardening and Bible study but her favorite interest was always horses and horseback riding. Dana is survived by her sons: Michael (Jennifer) Zumbaugh of Troy, MI and Christopher (Cynthia) Zumbaugh of Sheridan, IN; her brother: Jerry Gordon and sister Virginia Chambers; and by her grandchildren: Michael, Megan, Hanna, Peter, Zoe and Ella. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Dale Zumbaugh, in 2017 and her sister Beth Groseclose. The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 11, 2018 from 2 – 3 PM at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, Apopka, FL. A brief service will follow at 3 PM. Memorial contributions in Dana's name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Central FL Chapter, 2180 W. State Road 414, Suite 1100 Longwood, FL 32779. Dana and Dale were like grandparents to our girls. They were loving and sweet, gave the best advice, and never failed to show up on the doorstep with adorable stuffies for birthdays and holidays. My deepest condolences and prayers for your family.

I would like to offer my deepest sympathy to family and friends. It's times like these when the loving promises of our Heavenly Father such as knowing that we can see our loved ones again can bring us comfort and soften some of the pain we feel in our hearts. 1 Thessalonians 4: 13, 14
