Donald R. Roy

ROY, DONALD R., age 91, of Atlanta, GA passed away March 24, 2013. Don was born in Pittsburgh, PA on February 28, 1922 to John L. and Clara (Ruoff) Roy. He graduated from Perry High School in Pittsburgh. Don attended Westminster College and served in Guam during World War II. After a successful career as a salesman with Evans Bicycles, Benrus Watch Company and Hamilton Watch Company, he retired to central Florida and was a longtime resident of Tavares, FL. He was an avid golfer and active volunteer at the University of Florida - Lake County Extension Office in Tavares, FL. Survivors include son Richard A. Roy (Brenda) of Marietta, GA, daughter Karen L. Roy (Vicki James) of Flowery Branch, GA and brothers, Jack Roy (Lynn) of Winter Park, FL and Dave Roy (Nancy) of Lancaster, PA. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Jean (Wright) Roy and second wife Peggy L. Roy. A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 3, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Winter Garden Cemetery in Winter Garden, FL.
