Annie Laurie Burtscher Lynn, age 98, of Lenoir City, TN, formerly of Clermont, FL, passed away on May 11, 2018. Annie Laurie was born in Arcadia, Florida, on October 18, 1919. After graduating from DeSoto County High School, she moved to Orlando, where she studied accounting and worked in that profession for 12 years. In 1950, she married John Lynn, and moved with him to Clermont, Florida, She continued to work in the field of accounting for many years. Upon retirement, Annie Laurie and John were avid travelers, particularly enjoying the Rocky Mountain, and the Tennessee foothills. In 2016, she moved to Lenoir City to be close to family. Annie Laurie had innumerable talents, well-known to her family and many friends. Among them, she was a gifted seamstress and quilter and had a passion for gardening. Her yard in Florida was filled with tropical plants and orange trees. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Clermont for 58 years, active in women's and children's ministries. She was a Girl Scout leader for 15 years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, her parents, and 6 siblings. She is survived by her sister, Grace Roberts of Tampa; daughters, Frances Lynn (Joe) of Cleveland, OH, and Barbara Williams (Brian) of Lenoir City; grandchildren: Amy Evans Rourke (Chris) and Ellen Evans Kellogg (Matthew) of Knoxville, Douglas Martin (Alexis) of Cleveland, OH, and Leslie Martin of West Palm Beach, FL; and one great-grandchild, Sage Martin, of Cleveland. A graveside service for Mrs. Lynn will be held in Clermont on June 2, at 11:00 AM, at Oak Hill Cemetery.
