Schyberg, KOREAN WAR HERO "Don"age 86, passed away peacefully at home in Maitland, FL, in the company of his loving family. Born April 13th, 1931 in Bellmore, Long Island, NY, he grew up in the rural Adirondacks near Saratoga Springs, New York. During the Korean War, he enlisted in the Marine Corps and fought with the 1st Marine Division in frontline combat operations where he was promoted to Lance Corporal and earned numerous medals and citations. Don would later write a memoir about his wartime experiences and referred to his time in Korea as "the greatest experience of my life." He moved to Central FL in 1965 and after retiring from business, worked tirelessly in veteran's causes like the USO and Toys for Tots. He served as FL Chaplain of the 1st Marine Division Association and Korean War Veterans Association. He is survived by his sons and daughter, Robert, Cynthia, Kim, and David, and numerous grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
