I had Dr. Evens as a professor at UCF. I now teach high school history and tell many stories from my time in his classes. He was a wonderful man and absolutely made history enjoyable.

Dear Banning & Banning, JR. and all family members, please accept my sincere condolences on your loss of John. Will always remember John arranging for an educational trip to the U.S.S.R. which included a dozen students from Trinity Prep during the middle of the academic school year! As Chairman of the History Department, I hired a substitute (Carole Denicole) to cover Peter Crone's classes. Am certain that not only did the Soviet Union trip have long-lasting affect on our Trinity students but had an equally profound impact on the Soviet authorities as well. Trips such as John's helped to thaw relations with a heretofore enemy of the Cold War!' Carole Denicole would soon after become a full-time legendary Trinity teacher who became very involved with NASA. Viewing John's Postal History Stamp Collection in your beautiful home on Via Tuscany was a memorable treat as was meeting your gracious Grandmother in Naples, Florida. Attending your Wedding reception at the WPRC was an amazing blast! Will always recall Banning dancing with Roland Evans. So many other great and special times with the most beautiful Evans family are forever cherished. God Bless and stay safe in these uncertain times. With Love, Randy Moore, former Chairman of the History Department of Trinity Preparatory School of Florida and family friend.
