Dr Porter, Will, Kim, Wendy,
I just heard from Ken Meyer that Kris has passed away. I lived next door to the Anderson family in Kingswood Manor in the 60's and attended Edgewater High with Kris. I also just heard that Karen had passed away. Kris was the best man at my wedding to Debbi Pittman in 1971. He also attended my second wedding to Debbi. Kris was such a great guy and we shared many adventures during our youth. His family (and the world) will miss his cheerfulness and friendliness. I wish I had stayed in touch. My thoughts are with your family as you make it through this difficult time

To Dr. Porter/Anderson Family,
I had the honor of knowing Kris all four years we both played football at UF. We were both offensive tackles and I played next to him and Burton Lawless when he became a guard. I saw Kris only briefly in the interim years after football, but still remember how during practices at Florida Field his parents were often there to lend him support. I also have a good friend, Dr. Samuel Hathy, who was a trainer for the Gator football team who will undergo a stem cell transplant this Friday for multiple myeoloma. We mourn Kris passing and extend our condolences to the whole family. Kris was and will always be a Gator Great.
God Bless Kris and his family.

Mary
I have been out of town visiting relatives the past week and a half and just got caught up with the newspapers. I was so sorry to hear Kris had passed away and that I wasn't aware of the funeral. I would certainly have been there. It was wonderful to have known him for, unfortunately, a short time. I know each time my LSU plays UF, he'll still be urging on the Gators. I'll talk to you soon.

Dear Mary, Will, Kim and Wendy,
I just heard of Kris' passing from Donna Glenn Collins. Mary, remember when you and Kris visited Burk and I in Atlanta. I remember Kris when we grew up together in Kingswood Manor and when we were in College together at the U of F. He was such a wonderful person. I am glad I was able to see him at Wendy's wedding near Birmingham and again in Atlanta and regret we didn't keep in touch more frequently. May God Comfort all of you and may we always have fond memories of each other.

Dr. Porter, Will, Kim and Wendy,
I too knew the Anderson family during my years growing up in Kingswood Manor, Kris was always a pleasant guy to be around. As Donna said it's hard to believe Kris and Karen are gone, I did not realize Karen had passed until now. I do know the sorrow in losing someone close as I lost my own sister this month last year, but we do go on and keep them alive in our memories.
Best to all of you and your families.

Dr. Porter, I never had the opportunity to meet you, but I want to extend my deepest sympathy for your loss. I worked for Kris in the late 70's at Funstuf, Inc., a toy company based in Winter Park which made such “memorable” products as the Pet Ghost, The Nerd and the Incredible Hulk with Rage Cage. This was my first full-time job after high school, and I always appreciated the fact that Kris gave me the opportunity to supervise the second shift production crew. I have many fond memories of my time spent with him whether it was our lunch trips in his Trans Am to stuff ourselves with all-you-can eat pizza or spaghetti, the races at the go-cart track that was across the street from our facility, or working an all-nighter to meet a shipping deadline. Kris was a great friend and mentor, and looking back now, I realize how many of the skills I have used in the past 30 years can be attributed to him.

Dear Anderson Family,
Although Kris was a few years older, I remember him going off the high dive at the Kingswood Manor pool back in the 60's. He always made a big splash and kept everyone smiling!
I invite you and all Kingswood Manor "old timers" to the KMA pool dedication to my father, Coach Harry Meisel, on Saturday, May 16th at 11:00 am. Amid the sorrows of Kris' passing, perhaps we can gather to share the fond memories of our youth in Kingswood.
Please know that you will remain in our thoughts and prayers as you mourn the loss of your brother, Kris.
Take Care & God Bless You Always...

It is so hard to express the loss I feel with the passing of my special friend. My heart is truly broken for you Mary... I know he was a wonderful husband and that you will miss him terribly.
Kim, Wendy and Bill, You know that Kris and I were friends for as long as I can remember...and I have such happy and wonderful memories of him...both in high school, college and beyond. I regret that our paths did not cross later in life, but he knows that whenever I thought of him, the wonderful, warm memories of our friendship flooded back. Kris, I miss you ......

I knew Kris from our days at Edgewater and then at Florida. I was in awe of him. His athletic abilities were exceeded only by his interpersonal graciousness. I will remember him every time I am at The Swamp as his spirit will certainly forever be a part of Florida Field. May the Lord hold him close and bless his soul.

I grew up with Kris and have many fond
memories of us when we were kids. He lived in Kingswood Manor and I lived in Asbury Park, just a few streets away from each other. Kris was one of my favorite friends growing up, he was a good person and a good friend. As adults,
we had only seen each other at reunions he attended and when we saw each other it was like nothing had changed and we were still the two kids from the neighborhood. I will miss the opportunity
to see Kris again next year at our 40th reunion. But, I know he will be there in spirit and the Class of EHS 1970 will never forget him. We Love you Kris, see you again someday.

Mary, Kim, Kris and Kelly,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this most difficult time.
Our families enjoyed many, many Gator weekends together at the Cabot Lodge and tailgating. Boy, Kris did Love his Gators. He will now have the best seat in the "Swamp" to watch them and all of us. We will miss his smiles, cheery disposition as well as the love he showed for all of his family, but know that he is now at peace in heaven.

Kris, you were one of my best friends growing up. I loved you primarily because of the tremendous amount of faith God gave for such a big man. I believe you were the best offensive lineman that ever played for the Edgewater Eagles. Thanks for opening up so many gigantic holes for me to run through as a full back for the team. When you meet Jesus in heaven please let Him know that I look forward to meeting Him soon too and then we both can play football again in our new and perfect bodies. I will miss you until then.
