Ronald Larsen Obituary

Ronald Ralph Larsen, age 81, of Whittemore, passed away Monday, April 12, 2021 at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak.
Ron was born May 23, 1939 in Hazel Park to Kathleen and Kenneth Larsen. At the age of 18 Ron joined the U.S. Navy and soon after met his wife of 45 years, Nancy Carol (Bowen) Larsen, whom he married July 8, 1959 in Honolulu Hawaii, with lifetime friends Dan and Nora Parsons as witnesses.
After the Navy, Ron continued his career and served as a police officer/detective in Wayne, Westland and Iosco County. Ron loved his music, fishing and snowmobiling. He would spend several hours a day working in his yard and gardens. He also enjoyed calling bingo at the Whittemore Chamber of Commerce and was an avid and loyal fan of the Whittemore Cardinals and Detroit Lions football teams. From 1997 until he passed, Ron ran his own in-home computer repair business.
Ron married his second wife, Jeannette (Stephen) Larsen on Aug. 31, 2019. It was the first time in 14 years Ron was happy once again.
Ron was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Larsen; mother, Kathleen Graham; brother, Dennis Larsen; stepfather, Orville Graham; and his beautiful wife, Nancy Carol (Bowen) Larsen.
Ron is survived by many; his wife, Jeannette Larsen; sister, Carol Raymond of Leslie; five children, daughter, Carolyn Cadwell and her partner, Michael McIntosh of Tawas City, son, Ronald Larsen Jr. and his wife, Debbie Larsen of Chesapeake, Va., daughter, Marilyn Longpre and partner, Terrell Harris of Southfield, son, Kenneth Larsen and partner Diane Boehm of Warren, and daughter, Judith Petitti of Southfield; stepson, David Nolen of Flint and stepdaughter, Kim Olsick of Bay City.
Ron was also survived his grandchildren, Dawna and Jeremiah Kilgore, Lisa and Jason Erway, Karisa and Nicholas Alvey, Brian O'Connor and partner Kolten Frenzl, Ronald Larsen III, Baxter Ruskowsky, Trista and Joshua Brock, Kenneth Larsen Jr, Ashley Larsen, Nick and Heather Shue, Sarah Whitlock, Austin Whitlock, Jason and Jacqueline Schwenzer, Jason and Maggie Boehm, Robert Clevenger III, Nancy Petitti and Dru Petitti; step grandchildren, Hailey Oslick, Hudson Olsick and Holden Olsick; as well as 21 great grandchildren Blaine, Caleb, Nathaniel, Zachery, Morgan, Ethan, Gabriel, Kenneth Larsen III, Sophie, Daniel, Earl, Emma, Hailee, Brenden, Truman, Reagan, Abigail, Blair, Nicholas, Isabelle and Lydia.
Visitation for Ron will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 17 at Hale Baptist Church, 327 North Washington Street, Hale. Funeral ceremony will take place at 1 p.m. with Pastor Todd Vossen officiating. Interment will follow in Reno Township Cemetery in Whittemore, with military honors by the Tawas Area Honor Guard.
