McILWRAITH, Kenneth Douglas On Monday, September 11, 2006, after a brief illness in his 90th year. Born in Toronto in 1917, younger son of William Norman and Ruby (Somerville) McIlwraith. A graduate of Cambridge University, he joined the British Army, and served in the Middle East and Norway. After the war, he returned to Canada, joined the Department of External Affairs as a Foreign Service officer with postings in Geneva, Tokyo, Paris and Oslo. Predeceased by his wife Ruth (nee Kehoe) and brother William Gordon. Step-father of Deirdre and Darragh, father of Mary and Sheila Beingessner. Grandfather of Julia, Sonia and Alexis Beingessner. Brother-in-law of Patricia (nee Brightman) and uncle of Margaret (Chris) William, Peter (Catherine), and Richard, all in England. We will remember him as a gentle man, honourable and generous, with a keen appreciation for all sports, but especially the game of golf. Private funeral. A graveside service will be held at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Toronto on Tuesday, September 19, 2006 at 2:30 p.m. A Reception will be held at the Royal Ottawa Golf Club, Gatineau, Sunday, September 17, 2 - 5pm.
