My sincere condolences to Alyson's family. She was a precious soul who warmed our hearts - a sweet and bubbly girl who was cherished by her classmates at McMaster.
May your memories bring you strength and her contagious smile keep you smiling.

My Dad was a patient at the Queensway Carleton Hospital. He was a survivor of cancer for over 40 years.
Unfortunately, his body succumbed to it as it galloped through his body, his prognosis was given to him on Friday and he passed away on Sunday evening. Alyson was his palliative care doctor and she will always remain in my mind a beacon of light.
On Friday evening Alyson meet with my Mom and sister alone and took the time and talked with my Mom during what was a cataclysmic day for everyone.
Alyson came on Sunday evening as my Dad took his final breaths and I remember in my numbness a sense of relief that she and other staff were there to help.
Alyson also knelt with my Mom after my Dad died and gave her condolences. She spoke to my Mom calmly and compassionately that she was not to blame herself, my Mom being a nurse.
I know in my heart my Dad is grateful for the time Alyson took with my family and especially my Mom. These moments remain eternal and I know Alyson shared many similar moments for all those that she touched.
To her husband, parents, sister and brother, relatives and friends I am so sorry for your loss. On behalf of my family we were blessed to have her at my Dad's bedside.

My sincere condolences to family and friends of Alyson.
I will remember her as wearing some funky hat with a smiling face and one of her dogs alongside her, as she often had when she was covering on the pall. floor at EB on weekends .She had such compassion AND WILL BE MISSED

Our relationship with Alyson was always very easy and comfortable. She made everyone feel at ease. She had a way of finding good in people and was tolerant of others' shortcomings. She never stressed about life's little annoyances, choosing rather to embrace the positive -always setting a good example for others and putting others' needs before her own.
Alyson was genuine, caring, and warm-hearted. She was generous in all that she did. She was exceptionally bright and gifted. She always made an entrance and she had the remarkable ability to light up any room with her bright personality and impeccable and flamboyant style.
Her friendship had a tremendous impact on our lives in too many ways to describe here. It is becuase she brought so much to our lives that we grieve her loss with you so deeply and passionately. However, when we think of Alyson, we will always remember her happy and dancing, loving life, her family and friends and, of course, her animals. We love her dearly and will miss her always.

Dr. Brodeur replaced my regular GP when she was off on maternity leave. I will always remember her taking my hand and saying that my test results didn't look good. She was so compassionate. Luckily everything worked out fine for me. I only wish she could have received the same good news. My thoughts and prayers are with her husband and family.

I miss Alyson. I worked with her on Clarence Street and we visited at Rama Lotus Yoga. She is lovely with clients at Clarence Street - she has a gift to make people feel comfortable and valued. She brings energy to her workplace. We had conversations about mental health and illness - she had many insights. I am so sorry, Michael.
Take care of yourself.

A small group of us meet at the Y each morning to workout and regularly at the end of the day for socials. Exercise may have brought us together, but it's the friendships formed that keep us exercising. Alyson was our friend. Despite hating the early mornings and winter mornings most of all, she was always smiling, full of life and wearing the best outfits. Her passion and vitality were inspiring. She was proud of her family and spoke fondly of travels, new births, her profession and Mike. She is missed by us all. Our thoughts are with her family at this most difficult time.

To Michael whom I met a few times, including in the hat department at The Bay that Alyson liked so much! And to Alyson's family that I have not met, I offer my warmest condolances. As a physician and person, Alyson had helped many to go through difficult passages; it is so sad that she could not overcome this beastly disease. Again, my warmest thoughts to help you through this extremely difficult period.

As our palliative physician, Alyson gave not only her expertise and time, but of herself, which is perhaps the greatest gift of all. She had limitless compassion for the patients and families she worked with and she gave them great comfort and support during their most difficult journey. My thoughts are with her family.

I remember Alyson coming into clinic with her flaming red hair, pink rubber boots and just so full of life. She had an impact on all she met and will be greatly missed. So full of energy, life and enthusiasm. Thinking of you Michael at this time of loss. The pain will subside but the memories will live forever.
