HAAPANEN, Kenneth (Ken) Michael Passed away peacefully in hospital on Wednesday, November 2, 2017, at the age of 82. Beloved husband of 58 years of Doris (nee Solmen). Much loved father of Christine (Paul) and Cynthia Haapanen. Cherished Pappa of Adam (Jill) and Matthew Syrnyk. Friends and family are invited to gather for a Celebration of Life on Tuesday, November 7, 2017, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Carleton Yacht and Country Club, 6627 Marina Drive, Manotick. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Kidney Foundation or the University of Ottawa Heart Institute would be appreciated. The family want to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Dialysis Unit at the Riverside Hospital for their exceptional care, kindness and friendship over the years and to the Ottawa Civic Hospital for their compassionate care in his final days.

Dear Doris and family.
Herb and I were saddened to hear of Ken's passing. We enjoyed our visits and golf games with you and Ken. He was truly a remarkable person. You will have many fond memories to treasure. Unfortunately previous commitments did not allow us to attend Ken's Celebration of Life event today at CGYC.

Sincerely,

Herb and Shirley Sainthill
