Thomas TORRANCE Obituary
In hospital, surrounded by his family on Friday, August 24, 2012 at the age of 70 years. Cherished son of Ruby. Beloved husband of Jeanie. Loving father of Patrick (Tania) and Kelly (Eric McCully). Proud Grandpa of Dylan, Ryan, Caitlin and Jacob. He will also be remembered by Rachel, Simon, Andrew and Joshua. Special thanks to the staff of the Ottawa Hospitals for their care and compassion. The family will receive family and friends on Wednesday, August 29th from 10 a.m. until service time at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church,15 Steeple Hill Crescent, Fallowfield. The memorial mass will be held at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society (Ottawa Chapter), The Ottawa Hospital General Campus Foundation or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. I would like to leave this poem by an unknown author because family was so important to Tom.
I'm gone now, but still very near.
Death can never separate us.
Each time you feel a gentle breeze,
It's my hand caressing your face.
Each time the wind blows,
It carries my voice whispering your name.
When the wind blows your hair ever so slightly,
Think of it as me pushing a few stray hairs back in place.
When you feel a few raindrops fall on your face,
It's me placing small kisses.
At night look up in the sky and see the stars shining so brightly.
I'm one of those stars and I'm winking at you and smiling with delight.
For never forget, “You're the apple of my eye”.
