It is with great sadness that we announce Eddie's sudden passing, in his 73rd year on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at the Heart Institute following surgery, with his family by his side. Son of the late Edgar and Mary (Devine). Devoted and dearly loved spouse of Patricia "Trish" Rolland. Proud, loving step-father and friend to Jeff Rolland, daughter-in-law Carolyn Gill and Tania Rolland. Special loving Grandfather "Pops" and hockey buddy to Conor Rolland of whom he was so proud and Conor's biggest fan. Loving brother of Doris Artelle, Margaret and "bro" Andy Couture, Gary and Bob (Peggy). Also survived by extended family, cousins, nieces, nephews and so many dear friends at home and away. Predeceased by sisters Veronica Beaulieu and Beatrice Ellis. Eddie was a gentleman's gentleman, the kindest person anyone could meet. His smile, sparkling eyes, love of life and endless optimism will be sorely missed. Eddie deeply appreciated the hard work of his "boys" Danny and Marcel. The "Habs" have lost their biggest fan. Our years together were more than wonderful my love, Rest in Peace. T. A Celebration of Eddie's life will be held at a later date (details to follow).

Ed will be sadly missed. He had that unique ability to put a roof over your head, warmth in your heart, and a smile on your face. Both my wife and I always looked forward to the chance to chat - he had that charming personality that made everyone feel special. The world is a little poorer to-day because of this loss...

I just heard and am so very sorry for your loss, he was an awesome man, my Dads favourite cousin I'm sure. Always made me laugh he was such a character.

Pat - I am so very sorry and sad. Mr. Artelle (could never bring myself to call him Eddie, which he so wanted me to - he was always Mr. to me). He was such a wonderful, kind and spirited soul, who lived life to the fullest.
He always had a smile and a warm hug for me. I am honored that he and I were friends.
He had an infectious smile that grew bigger when he spoke about you Pat (the love of his life) as he would always say.
This place is a kinder world because he was in it, and a sadder one because he is gone.
