Susanna PRINZO Obituary
May 29, 1960 – April 11, 2013
Peacefully, demonstrating her usual grace and selflessness, surrounded by her loving family at home on Thursday, April 11th, 2013 at the age of 52 years. Beloved wife of Antonio "Tony" Prinzo, precious mother of Carmela, Nadia (John Stephens), and Giacomo. Cherished daughter of Clara Vogrig and the late Joe Vogrig. Treasured sister of Isabel Cheney and Anthony Vogrig (Sandra). She will be sadly missed by nieces, nephews, godchildren, family and friends in both Canada and Italy.
If you had been blessed with the opportunity to know our mom, you could not help but love her. Born in Ottawa to northern Italian parents, she was the ideal daughter; loving, respectful, responsible and studious. She loved creative writing and excelling at school, and with a stunning height of 5'11", she was a talented basketball player and athlete. Susy dreamt of one day being a mother and working as an accountant. Her dreams would be fulfilled sooner than she expected after meeting her soul mate, Tony, at 17 years old. Six months later, they were married and began their journey together, dedicating their lives to their children whom they adored and working tirelessly to build a successful, well- respected business, Prinzo Fine Catering.
It is no exaggeration to describe Susy as the perfect mom and wife. Her exquisite inner beauty and light shone through as outer beauty. Often likened to Princess Diana, Susy was tall, slim, with beautiful hair; she was elegant, classic, graceful, and always humble. She had a wonderful silly side and sense of humour, and an easy, bubbly laugh. Spending time with Susy was like coming home; she made you feel comfortable and cared for. Among all of her special gifts, her selflessness was second to none. Even during her final days, she was always more concerned about ensuring her family and friends had eaten and had everything they needed before taking care of her own needs. Susy was a role model to her family and friends alike: she was forgiving, empathetic, kind and generous. Despite the many challenges, pain and fear that cancer brought to her life, rather than complaining or carrying bitterness and anger, Mom taught us to trust in God's plan, to love and support one another, to appreciate the simple pleasures, and to be strong. Thank you Susy, we will remember you always.

My deepest condolences to the Prinzo family . Your Mom was so beautiful and such a warm and loving person. I loved going to the Saturday night dances to see her in fact the whole family and we would have great chats . I also got to know her better when her dog became ill and she went to the animal hospital that I work at -I also bumped into her one day at winners and I'm happy I had a tea with her even though I knew I would miss my bus .She spoke to me about her illness . She was so brave and courageous . Sleep well . You are with the angels now .

I LOVED THIS WOMAN!!! I am so so so sad to be reading that Sue has passed away. Sue and I had a blast planning Nadia's wedding together!! She was such an amazing woman, struggling with her illness, while still putting Nadia's wedding as her top priority. Sue's goal was to make sure she had a wonderful time at the wedding and to dance the night away. She told me she wanted to take in every second of that special day and not miss a beat. She also wanted to look beautiful on Nadia's wedding day. I think both missions were accomplished! Sue glowed on that wonderful day. When I saw her, I hugged her because I was so happy for her to look so healthy and radiant on this day. She smiled so big that it was almost blinding. She was thrilled to have fought her illness off and to be able to attend the wedding in great form. Sue danced her heart out that night, and at the end of the evening, she told me it was the best, most memorable evening she has ever had. She was so proud of her children, and her husband. I envied the glowing spirit that Sue radiated and was so sad when my dealings with Sue and this family ended. I wished the wedding plans could have gone on and on. I can only imagine the selflessness Sue exhibited as she lay sick in bed. She truly is a role model for all, and I personally am a better person for having spent a year with her, sharing a day that meant so much to her. I have been blessed by the spirit of Sue. She will continue to rule her family from above, and will always smile with pride over those she loved.
