Dear Beth, My heart is saddened by the news of John's death. He was a fine man, a great help to CPF and someone who I remember with great fondness. Leading a CPF long term strategy session, he introduced me to some phrases that now seem commonplace: unpacking assumptions and iterations of a plan are two that stick in my mind. My genuine sympathies go to you, Bill, Kristen, and Siobhan.

I was out of the country and just returned and learned of John's passing. He was a most remarkable man, intelligent, witty, talented and so kind and generous. His memory will carry on forever in our hearts and, of course, through his artwork. My heartfelt condolences to Beth and the family.

I am so saddened by John's passing. I remember him as a friendly, gentle and kind man. He was also generous in encouragement for my art work, for which I will always be very appreciative. I am fortunate to be able to enjoy his painting. Beth my thoughts are with you and your family. Heartfelt condolences.

I met John when Beth and I and other crazy French Immersion fools were starting up Canadian Parents for French back in the late 70s and early 80s. He was a gentle, talented and thoughtful man who supported us in our dreams both by his words and his paintings which he often offered for CPF fund-raising initiatives. My sincere thoughts are with Beth and the family as they honour and remember a fine and decent man.

I had the pleasure of working with John on some joint Nepean/Kanata issues. A fine gentleman who was a pleasure to know. My sincere condolences to his family.

I had the pleasure of working with John on occasion at Nortel. My sympathy to his family.

I met John soon after I came to live and work in Canada and quickly came to admire him professionally and as a human being. He was skilled, sensible and articulate, a wonderful combination. For a time we had adjacent offices at Bell Northern Research and every day John was a source of reason and calm in a perpetual hotbed of activity. Later he amazed me with his new career as an artist, which he pursued with his trademark focus and success. Whatever the circumstances John was always willing to step up and contribute, and I was grateful to have the chance to work with him more one more time in support of the Nortel pensioners.

They don't make people like John very often. We will all miss him.

Dear Beth and Family,
Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

John was that special kind of friend - the one that you don't see for a while but the relationship picks up where it left off as if time had stood still. This man shared his most intimate experiences willingly. When I returned to BNR from my exhausting Nortel US experience, John was in the neighbouring office in the admin building and restored my mental well-being. It was there that I learned the fine art of "Mlacaking"-very large paper, very large scissors, very large table, incredible and influential results! I looked forwarded to teaming up with you again -just ask around for "Stefco".

Beth, we are so sorry to hear about John's passing. John was a man of great empathy, ability and industry. John made us most welcome when we came to Canada just over 20 years ago. We loved his sense, his art, but most of all we loved him as a great person and we will surely miss him.

Dear Beth and Family, I am so sorry about John's sudden death. I am so grateful for the generosity of spirit and friendship that you bestowed upon me over these many year. John will always be present in my home in the form of his beautiful art work. Dear Beth, I send you my love and condolences.

John's acute intellect, wisdom, marvellous talents, quiet humour, and deep sense of truth were among the many gifts he tirelessly gave to his beloved community in the original Kanata. A magnificent man. Despite serious illness in later years he persevered, like the big strong machine he was, to stay as long as he could. Beth, you were a wonderful team. The hearts in our family go out to you and yours.

Beth, I was sorry to hear that John had passed. I remember talking to John at numerous art sales. I'll miss him.

I was very sorry to hear this news on Friday. I didn't know John as well as many others, but it was obvious after our first visit that he was a kind, intelligent, thoughtful, principled, and passionate person. These traits are evident in all the important aspects of his life - his family and friends, his work, and of course, his painting.
