I've just heard the sad news of George's passing. I extend my deepest condolences to Georgette and to the Monsour family.
George was always a pleasure to be with during all those sunny summer days at the Fisher Park playground. He was a patient, calming influence as a catcher and also as a guard on the basketball court. "Slow it down," he would advise as he carefully managed the ball and worked it out of his end of the court. Later, he was doing the same thing as a Senior at Fisher Park High School, only this time he was a guard on the Varsity basketball squad. In between, there were all those conversations with the gang under the streetlights across from Mike's. And then there was George's elegance and his sartorial wisdom. At Towsley's, he got me into a green corduroy "Teen Man" sports jacket that I still have to this day. I always think of him and the crew when I wear it. Rest in peace dear friend.

Georgette & Monsour Family....deepest sympathies....always remember George as a kind soft spoken gentlemen. My husband Caeser thought highly of him. He professionally outfitted the men in our wedding party in 1975 while working at Towsleys. We considered him a good friend....he will be missed but not forgotten. Memories last a lifetime.

Sincere condolences to Georgette and the Monsour family.
I was a 16 year old from Ottawa East when I started to work with George, 5 years my senior, at Towsley's Men's Wear. It did not take me long to realize how special this man was. A true professional in all his dealings with customers. He was also loved and respected by so many friends. Finally I found the big brother I was in need of.
We became best friends, lived together, played lots of golf and shared so many other life experiences.
Thank you George for your friendship, your contagious laugh and smile and the memories that I will cherish forever.

So sorry to hear of George's passing. He may not have known it but he played a big role in my life. I worked with George throughout my high school years at Towsley's. He was a brother to me and a mentor . Having spent most of the last 40 years in Edmonton we had lost touch . So many good memories though. My thoughts are with you Georgette.

Sincere condolences to Georgette and the Monsour family. George will be remembered as a consistently kind gentleman. Like many west end males, I was outfitted on more than one occasion by George at both Towsley's and Fisher's. Needing a bow tie for a formal occasion in late Jan., I stopped by to see him. We ended up chatting more about memories of our Clarendon / Wellington West neighbourhood and life, than ties :) A life well lived.

My heartfelt sympathies to the Monsour Family. I have known George from the very early days through my brothers and at ER Fisher. Working from Lincoln Fields over the past 10 years, George was a regular visitor to my office to say hello and touch base. Most recently, he was there last week and was looking so forward to part time work as a Golf Marshall & the Golf Store. RIP my friend...you are such a gentlemen and will be so dearly missed.

I have known George since my teens, my seven brothers were all good friends. Ran into George at Lincoln Fields a couple of months ago and we had a nice chat. He loved my Mom and was remembering her doing Xmas shopping every year and ordering 7 pairs of jeans, 7 pairs of good pants, 7 shirts etc. We had a good laugh and talked about old times. RIP George. On behalf of the Bull family, our condolences to all your family.

Very saddened to read about George's passing. I met him through our association at the Rideau View Golf Club year's ago and found him to be most welcoming and friendly. From time to time, I would bump into him in different areas of the city...always a pleasant "hello" was exchanged. As I am currently in Florida, I will miss his service....my thoughts are with his family and close friends.....

Way back in the day, when George and I both worked at the Spaghetti Factory, I was a new busgirl and George was a waiter, and for some reason, management put George and I together as a team, a lot... But I never minded because he was great to work with, fun, and always fair about splitting tips (which some of the other guys weren't). You will be missed in many ways George, RIP.

I've known George since we were at Fisher Park High School 50 years ago. Although we didn't see much of each other, we would meet by chance every now and then and re-live some of the good old days. He truly was one of the good guys. My condolences to Georgette and his extended family.
