SMITH, Richard Joseph 1939 - 2018 After a life well-lived Richard passed away at the May Court Hospice on March 1, 2018 at the age of 78. Richard Joseph Smith, born in Ottawa, was the beloved and loving husband of Lois Steele. Born to the late Mary Theresa and the late Kenneth Stephen Smith. His working life led him to the CRA, after his life as an English High School teacher, followed by his true passion as a photographer. He was a nature enthusiast, avid reader and a thoughtful storyteller. He will be missed by his larger family of cousins who played an integral role in his life. Jennifer and Kevin, Rob, Kyle, Ryan and Brenna will miss the love and kindness he has shown to us all over the last 24 years. Cremation has already occurred. A Celebration of Life is planned for family and friends to be held at Capital Funeral Home & Cemetery 3700 Prince of Wales Drive 613-692-1211 on Saturday May 5, 2018 from 1-4 p.m. Interment will be at Notre Dame Cemetery in the spring.
