Juanita "Jane" Nagel, 86 of Midland, died Monday September 3, 2018 at the MidMichigan Medical Center. She was born January 18, 1932 in Midland, daughter of the late Clarence and Rosa (Sherwood) Capper. Jane graduated from Midland High School in 1950. She then attended the Temple Beauty School in Bay City after which she worked as a beautician. On November 26, 1955, Jane married Jacob Nagel III. He preceded her in death on November 18, 1970. Jane was then employed by Bullock Creek and Pine River schools working in the library for 25 years, retiring in 1995. Upon retirement, her hobbies included crocheting and trips to the casino with her friends, Lorraine and Elsie.

Jane is survived by her four children and their spouses, Russ (Sandy) Nagel, Rex (Tricia) Nagel, Craig (Karen) Nagel, and Vicky (Dan) Chase; three grandchildren, Michael (Katrina) Mercier, Mark Mercier, and Katie (Jesse) Mercier; five step-grandchildren; and five step-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Trudy Kane; brother-in-law, Roger Nagel; niece, Debbie Raber; and nephews, Dave Wilson, Jim (Tammy) Wilson, and their children, Jacob and Jimmy Wilson. In addition to her parents and husband, Jane was preceded in death by two sisters, Maxine Capper and Virginia Wilson; brother, Clarence Capper Jr., and nephew, Don Wilson.

Memorial services for Jane will take place at 7 p.m. Friday, September 7, 2018 from the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Chapel, 1200 West Wheeler Street, with Pastor Mel Hunt officiating. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 5 p.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Pardee Cancer Treatment Fund.
