Ann Boehm Obituary

Ann Marquardt Boehm died peacefully in Williamsburg, Virginia on Jan. 10, 2019 at the age of 87. Ann is survived by her sister Susan Tiberghien of Geneva, Switzerland, and her four children - Arthur Bruce Boehm III, of Cleveland, OH, Susan Boehm Reynolds of Cambridge, MA, William Hollister Boehm of Cambridge, MA, and Jeffrey Stuart Boehm of Lexington, MA. Ann's family had grown to include nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Arthur Bruce Boehm, Jr. and her partner of three years, William Salmon.

Ann was born on Aug. 21, 1931 in Dobbs Ferry, New York to Eunice and Hollister Marquardt. She attended Cornell University, where she was known as Biff, and married her college sweetheart, Bruce, soon after graduating in 1953. Her life with Bruce included happy homes in Midland, Michigan; Morristown, New Jersey; Frankfurt, Germany; Brussels, Belgium; and Williamsburg, Virginia. Throughout a life filled with love for her family and many friends, Ann has always exhibited a remarkable ability to create happy memories with anyone she met. She was very active with the Midland Center for the Arts as well as William & Mary College. She was an avid bridge player, skier, golfer, and world traveler.

A celebration of her life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 19 at the Williamsburg United Methodist Church, with a reception to follow at the church.

All are welcome to attend and celebrate Ann's life.

In lieu of flowers, please consider supporting William & Mary's Muscarelle Museum of Art Foundation (MMFA) or the Williamsburg United Methodist Church. Checks for the Muscarelle can be made payable to MMFA, listing the Museum Impact Fund (3647) in memory of Ann Boehm in the memo line, and can be mailed to William & Mary, Gift Accounting, P.O. Box 1693, Williamsburg, VA 23187-1693. Checks for the Methodist Church can be sent to 500 Jamestown Road, Williamsburg, VA 23185 citing in memory of Ann Boehm in the memo line.
