Camille V. "Peggy" MCCANN Obituary
On Friday night, August 17th, our precious Mother passed away on her 90 and one-half birthday, surrounded by family. A loving wife, mother and grandmother she is predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Frank and by her youngest son, Peter. Camille was born in New York City on February 17, 1928. After her school years she was employed by Columbia Records and soon after met a young sales executive, Frank McCann. They were married in February of 1956 and raised three children in Rockville Centre and Garden City, NY. She is survived by son, James (Sara) and daughter, Karen Bode (Mark) and her grandchildren, Christopher, Alexander, Camille, Elizabeth and Caroline. In 1979, she and Frank moved to Palm Beach. They enjoyed the last 39 years in this beautiful community surrounded by many friends. They were members of the Sailfish Club and the Beach Club. She was a talented artist and painting was her passion for the last 50 years. For her 90th birthday family and friends gathered to pay tribute to our wonderful mother by presenting her with a book of her voluminous oil paintings which we will treasure as a keepsake memory. Camille had a strong faith and knew Jesus as her Lord and Savior. She was a member of St. Edward Church and an active participant in a weekly Bible study consisting of many dear friends. We know that she is "dancing on streets of gold" reunited with Frank and Peter, and her parents and brothers. She leaves behind her family and a host of loving friends. A Celebration of Her Life will take place this Fall in Palm Beach at a date to be determined. Donations in her memory may be made to the Peter F. McCann Scholarship Fund at Cardinal Newman High School.
