Nancy Ana Celia (Herrera) DRYER Obituary
Ana Celia "Nancy" Herrera Dryer a long time resident of Palm Beach passed away peacefully on Thursday June 21, 2018, after a brief illness. She was 88. Nancy was born into a prominent family in Havana, Cuba on October 21, 1929 daughter of Sergio and Margarita Herrera who founded Laboratorio Herrera a leading Cuban pharmacy company at the time. She graduated from Mt. St. Vincent Academy in Tuxedo Park, NY and Marymount College. Nancy was married in 1956 to Joseph F. Dryer, Jr. in a celebrated wedding in Havana that included Mary and Ernest Hemingway who were witnesses and later moved to Palm Beach in 1960 where they lived for over 50 years on Middle Road. In the late sixties, Nancy opened and briefly ran Nancy's Rigaud Boutique on Worth Avenue becoming one of the first retail stores in the US to introduce the international Rigaud brand of perfumes and accessories. She later worked as a realtor in Palm Beach and in sales/marketing with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines. She also worked for Crisis Line and as an Executive Recruiter in New York. Nancy loved the opera and the Broadway musical scene. She and her loving husband, Joseph F. Dryer, Jr. of Rochester, NY and Palm Beach who predeceased her, were very active for many years in Palm Beach Society. Nancy is survived by her sons Joseph F. Dryer III of Great Milton, England and his wife Mary-Ann and 4 grandchildren, Emily, Johnathan, William, Domenica and great-granddaughter Constance, Jamie Dryer of Palm Beach, Gregory C. Dryer and wife Kim of Palm Beach, New York and Newport, RI, her sister Margarita Heuze of Key Biscayne, FL and her son Eric and his wife Christina Heuze and family and daughter Beatriz Heuze and her sister-in-law Michele V. Dryer and family members of Rochester, NY. A Funeral Mass is planned for Tuesday, July 3rd at 10:30AM at St. Edwards Church, Palm Beach, FL.
