CHILLINGWORTH, Neva Neva Chillingworth of West Palm Beach and Miami, Florida, passed away on 8/12/17 at the age of 94. She was born in West Palm Beach, and was the daughter of Judge Curtis Chillingworth and Marjorie Chillingworth. Neva Chillingworth graduated from Palm Beach High School in 1940, and from Florida State College for Women in 1944 with a B.S. degree in Business Science. In college she was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. After graduation from college she worked as a secretary/librarian for the Society of the Four Arts in Palm Beach and later for the Service Men's Center in West Palm Beach. In 1946 she moved to New York City where she worked as a secretary for Reader's Digest and Best & Company, among others. In 1958 she moved to Miami and was employed by the YMCA and volunteered at the Crippled Children's society, the Literacy Program, and Kendall Hospital. In 1946 she married William S. Green. The couple divorced in 1952. Throughout her life Neva Chillingworth was an avid traveler, touring extensively in Europe and Asia. Her travels included two trips around the world in 1958 and 1972. She loved animals, gardening, and reading. In her memory donations may be made to the Humane Society of Greater Miami.
