SALISBURY, Lorraine Littlefield "Bright Eyes"

Lorraine Littlefield Salisbury "Bright Eyes", age 94, died peacefully on May 29, 2014, in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Born June 18, 1919, in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of Capt. William Lord Littlefield and Beatrice Elizabeth Ashmead. She was a long-time resident of the Palm Beaches (1946-2011), where she was socially active and involved with many charitable causes, including the American Red Cross, the , and the Junior League. She served as general chairman of the Red Cross Ball in 1965. Her club memberships included the Everglades Club, the Bath and Tennis Club, and the Coral Beach Club. Among her many interests and loves were antiques and interior design, Asian art and philosophy, bridge, her dogs, knitting and needlepoint. She was married three times (all deceased): G. Anderton Burke of Alexandria, VA; John W. Salisbury of Palm Beach, FL; and Donald L. Colvin of Palm Beach, FL. She is survived by three sons: G. Anderton "Tony" Burke, Jr. of Chiang Mai, Thailand; Michael G.A. Burke (Ruth) of New Orleans, LA; and Christopher C. "Kit" Salisbury of Chiang Mai, Thailand. She is also survived by her five grandchildren, Betsy Salisbury Collins (Clay) of Washington, DC, Andy Burke of Banff, Alberta, Brad Salisbury (Tara) of Davie, FL, Jonathan Burke of Montreal, Quebec, and Jack Salisbury (fiancee Anna) of Orlando, FL; and by her stepson, John W. Salisbury, Jr. of Palm Coast, FL. She was predeceased by her stepsons, Robert C. Salisbury of Palm Beach, FL, and David A. Salisbury of Chiang Mai, Thailand. She is also fondly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
