Mary R. Margoluis of Cotuit and Groton, MA and Delray Beach FL, formerly of Lexington, MA, died peacefully on February 22, 2013. Born in Rochelle, IL, on December 7, 1926 to Dr. Thomas and Myrtle Fern (Pottenger) MacEachern. Attended college at the University of Iowa - Phi Beta Kappa - and obtained her masters at the University of Missouri. Mary was a fine musician, playing the cello in many orchestras over the years, including the Concord Orchestra - Massachusetts, The Lyric Chamber Orchestra and The Century Village East Orchestra - Florida. Beloved wife and best friend of 61 years to deceased husband Garry Margolius. For many years they enjoyed sailing and playing recorders together. She leaves behind children David Margolius (Concord, MA), Ellen Margolius and Jay Neuman (Pittsburg, PA), Bob and Ramona Margolius (Groton, MA), Ann Margolius (Worchester, MA). She had 15 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews who were a tremendous joy to her. A memorial will be held in the Clubhouse of High Point 7, Delray Beach, on Sunday, February 24, at 1:30 PM. A memorial service will be held in Groton, MA at a later date for family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donate to Century Village East Orchestra or the Pan Mass Challenge.
