Tom was a great, great, great athlete and a person. We played on the same handball court more than 100 times as partners, but usually opposing each other. It was always a pleasure to compete with Tom. RIP my buddy. -- Joel Galpern

Just a little kid at the time in NMJrH when Tom and the NMSH basketball team won the state title. He was a hero to me and many young, aspiring athletes hoping to one day play for NMSH. My brother and I knew the official basketball scorer that season. He took us to every home game. I never spoke to Tom, but did sit behind him and the rest of the varsity team during a JV game. To be close, was very important to an 8th grader, still is. Will never forget him. As they say, he was the man, then, in college and during his professional career. May he rest in peace. Sympathy, thoughts and prayers to his family.

Clevis Headley and I have just found out about Tom's passing and we would like to express our most sincere condolences to his family. Tom was our respected colleague for over ten years and we shall always remember him fondly.

Dr. Baxley taught one of my first college classes, in the mid-1970's at FAU. He became a mentor and I considered him a role model. I went on to an academic career myself, and I wrote him once or twice in the ensuing years to thank him for the care and enthusiasm he brought to his students. I still recall Tom explaining Godel's Theorem in his office. What a wonderful teacher. My sympathies to his family and friends. -- Debra C. Rosenthal
