ALBERTO BUTLER MEJIA "TITO" Alberto "Tito" Mejia passed away on Friday, April 9 due to an accidental drowning while vacationing with friends in Antigua. Tito Mejia grew up in New York City, NY and Locust Valley, NY. He was 25 years old at the time of his death. He attended and graduated from The Buckley School, Deerfield Academy and Trinity College. He worked as an Investment Associate in the Private Wealth Management Division at UBS in New York. He is survived by his parents, Alberto and Peggy Mejia of New York City, NY and Palm Beach; his brother, Alexander Mejia of New York City, NY; his paternal grandmother, Julia Hernandez de Mejia of Bogota, Colombia; his aunt and godmother, Suzanne Ainslie of Palm Beach; his aunts, Julia Elvira Mejia de Pizano and Olga Mejia de Samper and his uncle, Eduardo Mejia all of Bogota, Colombia. Tito Mejia was a remarkable young man. He will be missed greatly by his family and legions of friends. A Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, April 16, 2010 at St. Ann Catholic Church, 310 North Olive Avenue, West Palm Beach, FL 33401. A memorial service is planned in New York City at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the "Tito Mejia Memorial Fund" at Deerfield Academy, Deerfield, MA, 01342.
