Dear Speranza family, your sorrow is felt throughout this entire nation, as is noted by all those who have signed this book. I met Ken in a seminar for Youth leaders a couple years ago and wanted to let you know I wish I can have as much enthusiam and positive impact on the youth as he did. I am sure he will be greatly missed by you and the entire Youth group that was under his care. I would also like to thank you for the wonderful time that I had in Florida last April, when I was there for my parents 50th Anniversery. We all look forward to when we can all see each other again on that great and glorious wedding feast in Heaven.

Our dearest friend Kathy;

You are very aware of how much Ken loved the youth group. I hope you can feel how much the youth group still love him. We know he was a champion for the youth, and how he alway fought for us. We will never forget how he made us feel, and how he fit right in will all the kids. We know you have supported him for many years, and we appreciate your efforts in sharing your husband with us. For that, we thank you. Please know that we pray for you and your family everyday. We are sure our Heavenly Father is using our Bishop to take care of all the youth in eternity; he is still busy doing what he loves.

Take our prayers into your heart, and feel them everyday. May God comfort you each day into the future with the many blessings you and Ken have stored up in the past.

We love you,

He was not only a friend, but an example of nobility in his service to God for us to imitate. I will miss him.

May his loving warmth and presense be felt by his family until that great day when our Lord returns.

Our reunion with him is more than a hope, it is a matter of time.

Kathy, KC, Michael, and surrounding Family
We share in your loss, we have all lost not only a tremendous Man of God who loved us all dearly, but also a very good friend. The Bishop will always remain dear to us, and in our hearts forever.We will miss that ever warming smile, and of course his contagious laugh. The way he held all the youth so close in his heart was beautiful, they were his biggest concern, and his greatest joy. I'll never forget how Rachael talked of him on her 2nd youth trip which was to camp in Pennsicola, of how much fun she had with the Bishop. What he has instilled in the hearts of our youth is something that they will hold and take with them for ever. It will be their strength and that which will help them grow strong in their faith. He has left a legacy that through KC, & Michael will never end. Boys just as yor father did when he was young, I would expect you two will also do. Hold the spiritual hand of those that go before you and our Heavenly Father through his grace will never let you be alone. We love you all very much and are always here for you.

Dear Sister Speranza and family,
We were shocked and very saddened when we received word that the Bishop had passed into eternity. As was said at his funeral service the Bishop's sincerity in faith and love for we the members was truly felt in his presence. We trust that our heavenly Father plans to make use of his special talents in eternity. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

In Deepest Sympathy,

February 28, 2007

my name is dean sperantsas (a.k.a. speranza). ken and i became acquainted in 1987 when i was in graduate school. ken helped me to publish my thesis on real estate. we noted with amusement at the time the similarity in our surname. In addition, i graduated from college the same year with the same major, lived in the same city Tampa Bay and trace my family roots to the same town - my family (mother) is from Durham. While probably not related- though, who knows? - I felt sorrow at the passing of a dedicated Christian. I will remember him.

Kathy,

Your dear husband helped me through many things in my life. He has talked me through job changes, prayed for me whenever I asked. He was there to give a wedding and house blessing when my husband and I got married, and he was there when we had our first "I don't think we're gonna make it" fight. He saved our marriage. He never hesitated to call us and pray with us on the phone and we (including my family...parents and grandmother) have always had a special connection with him. If you need anything at all, please don't hesitate. The distance may be great between us but we really hope you feel our love from Tennessee. God Bless you and help you through this time, and what a wonderful service last night, that our dear Bishop truly deserved.

We love you!
