Annie Lee HOLMES Obituary
Annie "Lee Lee" Holmes, community icon, business woman, philanthropic humanitarian and 60 year resident of Palm Beach County, passed on September 9, 2018 at Good Samaritan Hospital in West Palm Beach, FL. She was 90 years old. A devout Christian and ardent church worker, "Lee Lee," (as she was affectionately known) was notably recognized for her giftedness in many areas - namely: catering, event planning/coordination, fundraising and dispersing food/clothing/furniture to the less fortunate among us. Her church family at Gray's Temple Christian Methodist Church was the recipient of copious amounts of her time, talent and treasure. She was the founder of their Annual Mother's Day Luncheon and Fashion Show, founder of the Annual Red and White Tea and Chairperson of countless others church and community related events and projects. Christian D. Searcy, Esq. and his family respected her as a family member and a trusted employee for 41 years. Annie Lee had a special place in her heart for all the Searcy kids and she was up close and present for most of the memorable moments throughout their lives. Henry was her special baby and their bond was as strong as iron. Beloved in her community, Mrs. Holmes received many honors and awards including a Proclamation from the City of West Palm Beach declaring May 13, 2007 as "Annie Lee Holmes Day". Always exquisitely attired, she had a love for beautiful clothing and hats. She entertained family and friends often in her well appointed home and viewed them as her greatest earthly assets. She leaves a legacy of love and cherished memories to two sisters, Mable Graham of West Palm Beach and Lula Mae Jay of Colquit, GA; two nieces Benita Graham and Cassandra Rahming both of West Palm Beach; a chosen son Christian D. Searcy and children Henry, Christian, Angela and William and a host of other family and friends. A Viewing and Wake (programmed) in her honor is scheduled for Friday, September 14, 2018 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM at Gray's Temple Christian Methodist Church in West Palm Beach, FL. The Funeral Service will be held at the abovementioned church 11:00AM Saturday, September 15, 2018. Stevens Brothers Funeral Home, West Palm Beach in charge (561) 833-5526
