Frank Gabriel MEIER Obituary
MEIER, Frank Gabriel Frank Gabriel Meier, 86, of Jupiter, FL, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2018. Born on March 23, 1932 in Queens, NY, he is survived by his wife Carol and their four children: Frank and BJ Meier, Chicago, IL; Susan Meier Burke, Jupiter, FL; Bob and Raeann Meier, Round Hill, VA; and Tom and Judi Meier, Spencerport, NY. He was the proud grandfather of Bethany, Christy, Garrett, Nick, Maddie, Katy, and Jeff, and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Fred Meier, Long Island, NY. Raised in New York City, Frank spent his summers at Candlewood Lake, CT. At 21 years old, he fell in love with his future wife, Carol. After studying architecture at the Pratt Institute of NY, Frank built his architectural firm in New York City. He was a proud and active member of the Queens Rotary Club as well as the AIA - American Institute of Architects. After many years in Flushing, NY, Frank built a home on Candlewood Lake in New Fairfield, CT and moved his family there. From Candlewood, Frank spent the weeks working in New York and the weekends working on the lake property as well as sailing and waterskiing with his kids. Frank selflessly poured his heart into his community. In New Fairfield, Frank was the chairman of the buildings committee. He was an active board member of the Bogus Hill Association. Once retired in Jupiter, FL, Frank continued his service on the board of The Estuary and Jupiter Dunes Golf Club. When he was not personally fixing the neighborhood problems, Frank could be found on the golf course. He had a lifelong love for travel and photography and enjoyed an active social life with family and friends. After many years as a strong pillar of his family and community, Frank can finally rest in peace. A Visitation will be held at Taylor & Modeen Funeral Home in Jupiter from 6:00PM until 8:00PM on Thursday, October 4. The Memorial Service will take place at St. Jude's Catholic Church in Tequesta, FL at 10:30AM on Friday, October 5. In lieu of flowers, please donate to TrustBridge Hospice.
