Obituary Condolences

VINCENT, Winthrop A. "Sandy"

After a long and brave fight against cancer, Sandy passed away on December 27, 2013 at the age of 74. He was born to Winthrop and Eulala Vincent in Charleston, South Carolina in 1939. After growing up in Charlotte, North Carolina he moved with his family to Florida in 1957. Sandy served four years in the US Navy most of which was spent aboard the nuclear submarine USS Skipjack. His next great adventure was the twenty-five years he served on the Florida Highway Patrol retiring in 1989 with the rank of Major. Not ready to fully retire, he continued serving for sixteen years as a courtroom bailiff with the Palm Beach Sheriff's Office. Sandy treasured the many friends he made as he traveled through life. He is survived by his wife, Ann; daughter, Rhonda (Chris) Heide; son, Michael (Faye) Vincent and four fantastic grandchildren, Lauren, Robert, Henry and Hannah. Sandy is also survived by two brothers, Steve (Jeanne) and David (Sara Jane) of Ocala and seven nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special, heart-felt thank you to Dr. Edit Tolnai and staff, all the nurses at Jupiter Hematology and Oncology Infusion Lab and Foshay Cancer Center. Additionally, thank you to the many wonderful people at Hospice of Palm Beach and Broward Counties who made the last two months so much easier. A private service will be held at a later date.
