ARMER, Thomas Edward

Thomas Edward Armer of Palm Beach Gardens, passed away on August 13, 2014, one week before his 81st birthday. He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana and graduated from Wiley High School in Terre Haute. He attended Indiana University before serving in both the US Army and the US Marine Corps. After his service, he graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business. He was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. It was in history class at FSU where he met his wife Beverly. After marriage, he and Beverly lived in California for two years while Tom worked for Procter and Gamble and Beverly taught school. They returned to Florida in 1960 and have lived in Palm Beach Gardens ever since. Tom was manager of employment at Pratt Whitney, retiring in 1992 after 32 years. He enjoyed snow skiing, playing golf and tennis and was an avid Seminole football fan. Tom is survived by his wife of 55 years, Beverly, his son Robert Armer (Cathy), his daughter Allison Andersen (John), three grandsons, Chad, Clay and Jake, and his faithful dog Maggie. His parents Robert and Margaret Armer and his brother Dr. Robert Armer predeceased him. Tom's interment was in Bartow, Florida on August 16. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 6 at 2:00PM at the Aycock-Riverside Funeral Home located at 1112 Military Trail, Jupiter, Florida with Rev. Ron Hilliard of the First Presbyterian Church of North Palm Beach officiating. A reception will follow. Tom's passing leaves a huge hole in our lives.
