TYLER DOUGLAS DITTMER An extraordinarily talented, sensitive, courageous, loyal, spiritual, passionate, not to mention extremely handsome and charming, young man passed away on Tuesday, June 26, 2012, at the age of twenty. He will forever live in the hearts of his parents, Doug and Louise Dittmer and his brothers, Bryan and Douglas. Tyler was born November 24, 1991 in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. He excelled at all sports and grew up playing baseball, soccer, basketball, football, tennis, racquetball and especially loved fishing with his dad. He graduated from Palm Beach Gardens High School, Class of 2010 and received numerous academic and sports awards. He attended Daytona State and Palm Beach State College. His true love and passion was baseball. He played 3rd base and lead off hitter for Palm Beach Gardens High School. He was an Atlanta Braves fan, a Miami Dolphin's fan, a Miami Heat's fan and shared this joy with his entire family. His overall favorite team was The Fighting Irish of Notre Dame. He was proud to be Irish, always had a twinkle in his gorgeous green eyes and greeted everyone with that beautiful special smile that only Tyler had. He was fiercely loyal to his family and all of his friends. Tyler's fire, passion, strength of character, ease with any group of people and sense of fun made him a born leader and a great friend. He had enlisted to serve our country in the United States Marine Corps with the goal of entering into the medical field to help others. Tyler is at peace in Heaven with his grandpa, Robert Dittmer; grandpa, Raymond E. Mortimer and grandma, Patricia D. Mortimer; aunt, Margarite Gilles; great-aunt, Eileen Gulla; cousin, Matthew Massarda. He is survived by his parents, Douglas and Louise Dittmer and his brothers, Bryan and Douglas Dittmer; grandmother, Shirley Dittmer; his aunts, and uncles, Dr. Jean Malecki Friedland (husband, Dr. James Friedland), Eileen Massarda, Heather McCreary, Dan and Cheryl Dittmer, Peter and Barbara Dittmer, Ross and Diane Hutchinson, and Philip and Justine Dittmer; his cousins, Jennifer Purcell (husband, Michael), Heather Girardi, Dustin Dittmer, Trisha Cires (husband, Gabriel), Noelle Massarda, and John Massarda, as well as many extended family in New York, New Jersey, Colorado, Chicago and County Concullem, Mountrath and Abbey Leix, Ireland. Friends may visit with the family between the hours of 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Monday, July 2, 2012, at QUATTLEBAUM FUNERAL HOME, 1201 South Olive Avenue, West Palm Beach, FL 33401. The Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at the Cathedral of St. Ignatius Loyola, Palm Beach Gardens, FL HIS LEGACY WILL LIVE ON In lieu of flowers a Scholarship Fund has been established in Tyler's name to be awarded annually to a graduating college bound baseball player at Palm Beach Gardens High School.
