Myron Bolstad Obituary

Myron Andrew Bolstad, 73, of Paradise, passed away February 14, 2013, after being hit by a car while crossing Clark Road after choir practice. Myron was born in Plentywood, Montana Dec. 1, 1939, ten minutes before his twin brother, Melvin. He lived on a farm west of Medicine Lake on the Indian Reservation until his family moved to Phoenix AZ, in 1946, then to Scottsdale, and finally to Paradise in 1951. He graduated from Paradise High School, class of 1957, the first of graduating class of the new school. He played clarinet, sang in the school choir, and played football. He loved hunting, fishing, gardening, cooking, flowers, and admired the talents in others. Myron served his country as a US Marine from 1958 until 1963, and toured Okinawa, the South Seas, Japan, Hong Kong, and the Philippines. He worked many years hauling wood and freight with his father, Myron Sr., who owned Paradise Freight Line. He attended Butte College taking up landscaping arts. During a recovery from a hip injury, Myron made many friends at the Life House Rehabilitation facility, and after being released he would return to visit them, taking stews and salads. He also joined a gospel group which sang there every Thursday. He also joined the Classic Choir at the Paradise Alliance Church, with his sister Ellen. Myron was a tease at times, quite the joker, but very thoughtful, giving, and his smile radiated to everyone around him. He was well loved. Myron was preceded in death by his parents, Myron and Alma Bolstad. He is survived by his son, Brian Bolstad of Gulfport, Mississippi, two brothers, Roger of Manteca, CA. and his twin brother Melvin, of Caldwell, ID., his sister Ellen Larson, of Paradise, four nephews, three nieces, six grand nieces, five grand nephews, and numerous cousins. A memorial is planned for Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 3:00 P.M., and the Paradise Alliance Church. Arrangement entrusted to Paradise Chapel of the Pines.

From the viewpoint of a former LifeHouse Cypress employee, Myron's visits to our facility were always welcomed. He was helpful, loving, and had a wonderful way of providing comfort and companionship to all he met.

Mel and Family, we are so sorry for your loss. Myron always brought a smile to our faces. We looked forward to meeting him on the bike path for our morning walks, not to mention his wonderful stews and jolly personality. We will miss his visits to our home and the laughter we shared together. Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers, Don and Roxie
