Jack Dawson Obituary
JACK DAWSON Jack Dawson was born in St. Charles, Illinois on March 30, 1947. His family moved to California when he was 2 years old. His father was a bank manager and they lived in several areas of Northern California, finally settling in Paradise in 1963. Here is where he fell in love with the mountains ...fishing ...and when he married his wife Terry Howe, he married into an extraordinary hunting and fishing family. Jack retired from Pacific Bell (AT&T) in 1994 and then started his own business known as Dawson Telephone. Throughout the years he became beloved and well known wherever he went. A story teller through and through, Jack was always the life of the party. Known for his love of motorcycles (and their hatred for him), Jack owned many motorcycles which culminated in a custom chopper built by Dogtown Choppers. He was notoriously known as a fisherman who loved fly, lake and ocean fishing. Essentially, Jack loved any chance he had to be outdoors. This love was passed on to his son and grandsons. Camping trips were amongst his favorite vacations. His love of nature often led to discussions of his love for Jehovah God and his qualities as seen in creation. In 1973, Jack was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in Redding, California. His love of people was reflected in the way he passionately cared for the friends and family over the years. Jack's parents Ron and Shirley Dawson have recently deceased. Jack is survived by his wife of 50 years Terry, son Joshua and grandsons Kipton and Logan. Services will be Sat., June 9, at 2pm, Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Winesses, Skyway & HoneyRun.
